Fed and taught and loved me, her firstborn son.
We take this day to celebrate our Moms.
So, she's damn lucky that I came along.
Before me, could she celebrate this day?
She was a wife, but a mother? No way!
So, my dear Mother, we both can agree
That this day, you should be thankful to me
Although later you begat another,Know it was I that made you a mother.
Mom. You're welcome. I'm glad I could assist.
I should probably get half of your gifts.
Happy Mother's Day! I hope you know that I love you a lot.
If you're hoping for a present, bad news, this poem's all you got.
Love it, Paul! And you can have half of all I received today...I opened my telephone bill - so your share comes to $62.44. Thanks for such a worthy tribute! Mother
ReplyDeleteThis should be set to music! Deeply moving and profound, Paul.
